WRI Ross Center Prize for Cities Awards Celebration + Learning Roundtable

I am pleased to invite you to join World Resources Institute for two very special events in New York City on February 1 and 2.
On February 1, from 5:00-8:00 pm, we will host the WRI Ross Center Prize for Cities Awards Celebration at the historic Ford Foundation for Social Justice. The evening will include a ceremony showcasing the extraordinary work of the five Prize finalists, an announcement of the $250,000-grand prize winner, and a reception featuring drinks and hors d’oeuvres influenced by the finalists’ cities.
The WRI Ross Center Prize for Cities seeks to inspire urban change-makers across the globe by elevating trailblazing initiatives and telling impactful stories of sustainable urban transformation. In the 2021-2022 Prize cycle, finalists from Barranquilla, Colombia; Iloilo City, The Philippines; Odisha, India; Paris, France; and Peshawar, Pakistan, were chosen from among an incredible 260 submissions on the theme of “Thriving Together in Turbulent Times.”
This inspiring celebration will feature New York Times Opinion Host Lulu Garcia-Navarro, mayors and government officials, luminaries in urban sustainability, business leaders and more. Please join us!
This is an in-person event. Business or cocktail attire is requested.
The next day, on February 2, from 9:00am-12:00pm, please add your voice to an interactive Learning Roundtable that will bring together a community of urban changemakers for an exploration of how to drive the inclusive cities agenda forward even amidst times of disruption and crises.
Through interactive photo talks and a facilitated conversation with the Prize finalists, this will be a unique opportunity to dive deep on what it takes to create transformative urban change in today’s world.
We are also offering a virtual option for the Learning Roundtable, for those unable to attend in-person.
