Speakers presented current efforts to collect this data, the role of data in developing programs related to environment and gender-based violence, and how data and stories can play a key role in development of national and international policies. WATCH THE RECORDING This webinar was organized with the participation of: FINDINGS FROM THE RESILIENT, INCLUSIVE AND SUSTAINABLE ENVIRONMENTS (RISE) 2023 GRANTS CHALLENGE APPLICATIONS In 2023, there were 814 expressions of interest completed to receive RISE grants – a 117% increase in applications from the previous year. We heard from applicants about a wide range of issues, and learned about many data points that were previously not well-known or were newly identified by organizations. Speakers and participants will include UN Agencies, government officials and policy makers, leaders and commitment makers of the Feminist Action for Climate Justice Action Coalition and the Gender Environment Data Alliance (GEDA), private foundations, civil society organizations, indigenous leaders and local communities and academia. JOIN US Expo City, Dubai, United Arab Emirates 28 – 29 November, 2023 The Gender-Based Violence and Environment Linkages Center (GBV-ENV Center), is managed by the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) as a strategic part of the Advancing Gender in the Environment (AGENT) program, a partnership with the United States Agency for International Development (USAID). The GBV-ENV Center is also part of a joint commitment by IUCN and USAID under the Generation Equality Forum. Cross-sector partnerships. Pioneering learning. #RISEUSAID | Website The Resilient, Inclusive, and Sustainable Environments (RISE) grants challenge identifies and funds evidence-based strategies to address GBV in environment and climate-related programming. Funded by USAID and hosted by IUCN under AGENT’s GBV-ENV Center, RISE aims to build approaches that help close information and knowledge gaps in relation to programming that addresses GBV and environment linkages.
