Jackson Wild (aka Jackson Hole Wildlife Film Festival)

Jackson Wild is an inclusive global forum that accelerates and elevates impactful storytelling at the nexus of nature, science, and climate. Founded in 1991 and long known as the Jackson Hole Wildlife Film Festival, Jackson Wild has spent more than three decades inspiring its community, celebrating excellence in storytelling that illuminates our connection to the natural world and our collective responsibility to the wild.

Jackson Wild’s work centers on innovative and collaborative gatherings, skill-building initiatives, mentorship programs, and career development for the global nature-storytelling community. The Jackson Wild Media Awards — often called “the nature equivalent to the Oscars®” — celebrate excellence and innovation in science and nature storytelling, with categories spanning feature films, series, shorts, digital media, and journalism. In 2026, the Media Awards are being run jointly with the Hollywood Climate Summit Awards, an industry gathering in Los Angeles that will bring together storytellers from film, television, gaming, and emerging media. The organization also runs the My World Film Grant, supporting emerging filmmakers from underrepresented regions and perspectives, and maintains active mentorship and career-development programs.

The 2026 Jackson Wild Summit is scheduled for November 9–10 in Los Angeles. Jackson Wild is headquartered in Teton Village, Wyoming, and works with a global community of filmmakers, scientists, broadcasters, and conservation organizations.
