Water For People is a global nonprofit working across Latin America, Asia, and Africa to ensure that everyone has lasting access to clean water and dignified sanitation. Founded on the principle that water is a human right, the organization partners with local governments, businesses, and individuals to build water and sanitation systems that local communities can maintain for the long term — what it calls its Everyone Forever approach.
Water For People works in 9 countries: the United States, Guatemala, Honduras, Peru, Bolivia, Uganda, Rwanda, Malawi, and Tanzania. Rather than building short-term infrastructure, the organization invests in local supply chains, local entrepreneurs, and local government capacity so that clean water and sanitation services endure. The model — Everyone, Forever — means reaching every household, every school, and every health clinic in a district, and then ensuring those services last. Water For People has reached millions of people with sustainable water, sanitation, and hygiene services and reports annually on its impact.
Water For People is a 501(c)(3) headquartered in Denver, Colorado, with a Canadian affiliate (canada.waterforpeople.org) and active global field offices.
