Wildlife Protection Solutions

Wildlife Protection Solutions (WPS) is a U.S.-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit that deploys technology to protect endangered species and ecosystems. The organization is headquartered in New York City and was founded by a group of filmmakers, technologists, and conservationists interested in using AI, sensors, and immersive media to scale the work of protected-area managers and law-enforcement agencies.

WPS’s conservation work uses advanced AI to enhance continuous, real-time monitoring of protected areas through camera systems, remote sensors, and software that integrates with platforms including EarthRanger, SMART (Spatial Monitoring and Reporting Tool), and Project Gundi. This technology provides conservationists with immediate landscape-scale awareness so they can respond to poaching, illegal logging, and other threats proactively. WPS’s technology deployments span protected areas in Africa, Asia, and the Americas, and the organization has developed a recognized methodology for combining edge-AI cameras with ranger workflows.

WPS complements its field technology with a portfolio of education and storytelling initiatives that use AI, cinematography, virtual reality, and other media to build public awareness and support for conservation. The combination of applied field technology and high-quality public engagement has positioned WPS as a distinctive contributor to the global wildlife-protection community. WPS is an IUCN member and partners with several of the world’s leading protected-area authorities on the integration of AI monitoring into standard ranger operations.
